An excellent opening stand by Hawkins (27) and Whitehead laid the foundations for Swynnerton's victory over Lichfield Nomads. Whitehead's positive batting taking him to a deserved century before being caught by Hussein off Heslington for 115. An agressive innings from Profitt saw him unbeaten on 41 at the end of the allotted 40 overs and Swynnerton's total of 237 always looked a challenging target.
In reply, Fearon was caught at 2nd slip off the first ball of the innings. Nomads rallied bravely with Gardner (45) and Heslington (33) adding 81 for the second wicket but the required run rate was always out of reach. Pinfield chipped in with 20 and Hussein (30) and Forster (9) were the not out batsmen at the end.
