The inaugaral Ellison Trophy, in honour of both teams' departed friend Stewart Ellison, was won by Nomads after a dogged and very disciplined bowling and fielding performance.

Run Scoring was difficult all day, rarely exceeding 2 runs per over. Nomads won the toss and batted but found scoring difficult against accurate Friary bowling and good fielding. Only Gardner (35) and Pinfield (18) put together any form of partnership, 57 for the third wicket. Their total of 100-9 seemed barely defendable especially when Friary reached 57-2 with Willoughby and Tyler looking well set. However, wickets began to fall with Fearon (4) and Higginson (3) the leading takers. In the end Nomads won comfortably to clinch the trophy.
