Captain Rolfe won the toss and chose to bat at a windy Rushall. The venue switched as the Elf's usual home ground at Alrewas was booked. Progress was slow for the openers Gardner (5) and Terry (12), the score crept along at less than 2 an over. Scoring wasn't easy on a tricky wicket. The batsmen stuck at it and the rate increased as first Moss (7) and then Brannigan (19) eked out some precious runs. George failed to trouble the scorer.
Hutton played the vital innings plundering Preece for several boundaries as he added 32 with Brannigan, 30 with Fearon and then 29 with Westwood (17) on his way to his first 50 of the season. Heslington played a useful cameo at the end scoring an unbeaten 14. In the end 139 seemed 20 runs short but at least gave us something to bowl at.

It was soon clear that 139 was a decent score as a steady stream of Elf batsmen departed. Moss bowled a miserly 1-4 off 5 overs, Heslington 0-11. There were three wickets each for Hutton and Westwood.
Dunn and Armstrong steadie the ship for the Elf and batted very sensibly. At one point it looked like they pull off a shock but Fearon forced Armstrong to play on and Rolfe caught Dunn off Brannigan and the Nomads secured their third straight Sunday victory.
