Lichfield Nomads Cricket Club is based, as the name suggests, in Lichfield, Staffordshire. It
was formed in 1982 by a bunch of CAMRA members, some of whom still play or have
associations with the club.
We are an active club with a full schedule of Sunday fixtures from early April to late
September. However, in keeping with our origins we do place a lot of emphasis on
the social side as well. There are regular social trips, pub crawls, curries,
trips to Test Matches etc.
We only play friendlies. We seek to uphold “the spirit of the game”.
Whilst we are predominantly a nomadic club, we do play a number of ‘home games’ each year. This year we have games at Walsall CC.
We try to arrange a tour every year. We have been to Belgium six times. Trips to Sussex, the
Cotswolds, Wales, Lincolnshire, Bath, Devon and Derbyshire have also featured in the past.
New members, of any age, and any ability, are always welcome. Current ages range from under
20 to over 60. If you have paid your membership you are guaranteed to play some
games. Come along to one of our games (details are published on the website).
From January to April we have indoor nets at Queen Mary's Grammar School, Walsall (Wednesdays at 8:00pm) and Walsall CC in the summer on Wednesdays from 6:30pm
