Match Result - Nomads won by 104 runs.
Nomads 126 for 9 off 40 overs, Norton 22 for 9 (all out) off 11.2 overs.
Heavy rain on Saturday meant that the pitch was green and damp. The wicket was slow with the odd ball going through the top and the odd one popping up or keeping low. Fearon and Heslington (5) opened the batting and began positively putting on 22 before Heslington was bowled by a full toss from Ahmed. Griffiths then had Gardner caught for a duck thanks to a diving catch by keeper Thompson. Without the regular number 4, Pinfield, Forster moved up the order and continued in a positive vain hitting a six and a four on the way to a brisk 16, before a spectacular caught and bowled by Griffiths. the former Walsall goalkeeper. Cartwright could only add a single and Hoddy provided a sheet anchor role once Fearon was caught by Griffiths for a top scoring 43 in the 24th over. Hoddy (14 not out) ensured Nomads batted out the full 40 overs and was ably supported by Higginson (7) and Greaves (13). Griffiths took 4 -18 and 3 catches, James took 2-16 and Ahmed took 2-26.
Heslington (3 wickets for 2 runs) and Forster (3 wickets for 8 runs) opened the bowling and the understrength Norton side were quickly in trouble. Hoddy took 2 wickets for 2 runs and Graeme Blackburn took his first wicket of the season and second ever wicket for the Nomads as Norton could only reach 22 in reply. Nomads recorded their 3rd win of the season by 104 runs
