Lichfield Nomads Cricket Club : Match Reports 2004

Nomads beaten by stronger Haywood Park.
In a match rearranged due to Cannock Wood having to play a village knockout match, Nomads came unstuck against tight bowling from a team that kept their stronger players back.
A slow start from Heslington saw him get off the mark from his 30^th ball and with Gardner batting with a broken collar bone, it was never going to be easy to set a difficult target.
A good tea prepared by the Osborn household lightened the mood and although Nomads kept the opposition in check early on, with Heslington repaying the opposition in the frugality stakes, they ran out easy winners with plenty of time to spare.

A disappointing start for Hemmings in his first match as captain, but some lessons to be learned for the future and we’re sure this Nomads team will fight back.
Despite being overpowered Nomads never gave up. Ted Osborn, having prepared tea, kept wicket, bowled at both ends and scored a few runs managed only 1 vote in MVP, with Ian Hughes getting three, just for being thin enough to climb through the score-box window!!
