Wall batted first and the run rate was painfully slow as the hosts reached just 21 off the first 10 overs and the Nomads thought there was a chance of keeping the opposition below three figures. There were four wickets for Heslington and two for Westwood, the first an lbw and the second bowling the batsman round his legs. Fearon took a good caught and bowled. A late flurry from Langham pushed the score to 145 for 8.

Batting wasn't easy as the Nomads began their reply. Gardner was run out looking to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Stanley made 10. Weir took the game by the scruff of the neck and played some effective pull shots to push the scoring rate up and spread the field. He was eventually out for 35 useful runs. Westwood and Blackburn (G) both failed to trouble the scorer.
Brannigan and Hussein took the score from 75 for 5 to the brink of victory with calm batting and running. Brannigan then finished the job with a six to tie the scores and a four to win the match and bring up his half century.
