Nomads lose at Walsall AHA
The Nomads only posted 120 but made the opposition work hard for their five wicket victory. Pete Gardner scored 47 and Chris Ball scored 22. The Nomads kept it tight and Walsall took to the 37th over to reach their target. Kevin Collins took three wickets for 19 runs.

A Nomads side, with a mixture of youth and experience, won toss and elected to bat in warm and dry conditions. The top order was back in the Pavilion early with the score reduced to 20 for 4 in 11 overs by accurate bowling from S Stephens 8-2-12-3 and Hall 6-1-6-1. Gardner (47) and Ball (22) then put on a stand of 74 to put some respectability to the total but after Gardner was run out , the Nomads innings subsided to 120 all out with an over left and only 2 batsmen making double figures.

In the face of defending a modest total, captain set about using his resource to as good effect as possible.  Tight and accurate bowling, especially Chris Collins 8-2-14-1 and Kevin Collins 8-1-19-3, kept the wickets falling and good fielding by the younger members kept the flow of runs down.  But a one handed catch by Keith Greaves stood out and at this point Walsall AHA were 70 for 5 after 27 overs. With no further successes for the Nomads, S Stephens (32*) and D Stephens (20*) saw the home side to victory with 3 overs to spare.
