The Nomads batted first with Gardner and G Blackburn opening patiently. Blackburn perished and after hitting a four through cover from a full toss, so did Stanley. Captain for the day Hughes started in strong fashion and moved the score along. Gardner was bowled and then there was a clutter of low scores. Hughes innings ended a few shy of 50 and P Blackburn moved the score along, with the help of Forster, to a below par total, padded out by extras.

S Faulds and N Edwards for Wall CC started their innings against Hoddy and Forster and waited for the loose delivery. The bowling attack changed, but the luck did not, Heslington and Greaves bowled well but the openers were not to stray from their objective. Another bowling change occurred and this time the second generation Nomads came to the fore. With the score on 94, Faulds holed out to Greaves, for 48, off J Hussein’s Leg spin. Hussein was successful again, but this time it was thanks to excellent work behind the stumps by G Blackburn, who claimed a stumping off a wide. N George had Edwards pinned LBW and Hussein claimed his third wicket from another G Blackburn stumping. All too late and Wall CC won the game with a few overs to spare.
