Duke of York 119 for 2
The reorganised 20 over match took place in good conditions. In order to chase a
target, Hoddy elected to put in Dof Y after winning the toss. With the
conditions of 4 overs per bowler and retirement at 25, D of Y first 3 batsmen
all retired, however the total was not overwhelming and at one stage a score
restricted to under 100 looked possible. However 119 was achieved which looked
achievable with Nomads batting line-up.
Gardner and Scott opened but Scott was out early on to a top edge. Gardner and
Scott took the score along at the required rate, but after the retirement of
Gardner, the innings collapsed with Westwood, Brannigan and Rolfe out quickly -
all bowled. No-one else stayed in long and the innings collapsed well short of the required target. [Disclaimer: any offence caused by this article is unintentional, any praise is well deserved.] |
