Heslington strikes delay the inevitable.

Nomads battled hard to defend a low total of 127 but ultimately this was in vein as Walsall Health reached their target with 3 wickets and 14 overs to spare.

Batting first, the Nomads struggled to post a decent scoring rate as wickets tumbled regularly. Opener Gardner scored 34, Heslington was 46 not out and Rolfe, with 11, was the only other batsmen to reach double figures. Snapper Blackburn helped add a useful undefeated 22, batting at the end. It was clear that a meagre 127 for 8 would be difficult to defend.

Gorton was his usual reliable self and was the backbone of the innings. The top three all contributed but a middle order collapse gave Nomads hope. Heslington’s fine spell brought 4 wickets, all bowled, and the prospect of an exciting finish but Walsall Health ultimately reached their target with nearly 14 overs to spare,
