Result: Match abandoned as a draw. Nomads washed out against Old Moseley
With rain threatened at 6pm, it was always unlikely that the match would be
completed. Moseley batted and Moss and Hutton bowled well taking 2 wickets in
the first 3 overs. However Sherif, in particular responded well by playing
himself in and then accelerating his scoring. There were chances. In one over by
Brannigan, during which there could have been 3 catching chances, but the ball
just evaded the fielder, and 2 run outs if the fielder had collected cleanly.
However it was not an easy pitch to field on particularly at the pace the ball
was being struck. After 20 overs the score was a balanced 76-3 but the next 64
runs came in 10 overs and the final 10 overs saw 101 runs scored bringing a
total of 241-6.
Tea was taken during which the rain started. There was some debate about whether
to start Nomads innings but after this was resolved the rain increased and
looked to be set in and so play was abandoned.
