Lichfield Nomads made it four wins out of four this season as they beat M & T in an exciting match at Barton.
Openers Arif and Shahdab went after the Nomads opening attack, setting off at six an over. Forster made the first breakthrough, clean bowling Shahdab. This brought Abu to the wicket and they continued to dominate the bowlers. A score of 250 plus looked on the cards. Hoddy entered the attack from the Argos end and soon had Arif stumped who had quickly amassed 65 and threatened to take the game away from the Nomads. He then trapped Abu lbw for 39 and Fearon joined in the action picking up 2-10. Hoddy finished with career best 6-26 as M&T slumped to 163 all out. There was a debut wicket for Dave Pickering.

Nomads reply started slowly but the impetus was boosted as Gardner began to find his range and Heslington dropped anchor at the other end.
Gardner fell for 40, bowled by Shahdab, with the score on 72. Fearon and Pinfield both failed to make an impression and Pinfield was unlucky to be given out lbw despite getting a slight edge on the ball which the Umpire didn't hear amongst the cacophony of noise.
Higginson added some zest to the innings with some cracking off drives and together with Heslington added a valuable 49 for the 4th wicket. Victory was in sight when first Higginson fell for 29, bowled off his legs. Blackburn was bowled and Heslington was finally out bowled for a grinding 31. Steady nerves were needed with 11 required to win off five overs and Hoddy and Forster guided the Nomads to victory by 4 wickets with 8 balls to spare. Another five wides conceded late on proving costly for M&T.
