Lichfield Nomads Cricket Club : Match Reports 2002

Nomads travelled over to a sunny Church Eaton with only 9 players due to extensive holiday commitments of several players. Hoddy won the toss and elected to a bowl on a pitch which looked as though it would be lively. Heslington and Higginson opened the bowling, Higginson bowling well again with only 6 runs coming off his first 6 overs. Cartwright and Hoddy took over but proved more expensive. Hemmings made his first appearance of the season and had a good spell. He and Forster closed out the bowling restricting Church Eaton to 162-7. However black clouds had been gathering towards the end of the innings and thunder and lightning preceded a torrential downpour which flooded the square and brought the game to a premature conclusion.
