Nomads extend winning run
Lichfield Nomads recorded their third straight victory with a 64 run winning margin over W.T. Parker. Mark Heslington starred with both bat and ball.

Openers Moss and Heslington batted positively from the off and had put on 62 before Moss was caught for 25. Caygill was run out for 29. Heslington completed his first half-century of the season and went on to make 73 before being caught. Pinfield continued his fine form with 30 runs. With the top order doing their job, the middle and lower order were left to go for quick runs with wickets in hand. There were ducks for Fuzz, Dave Pickering and Dave Forster. Nigel Edwards scored 12 to beat his previous best score for the Nomads. Skipper Blackburn was caught and bowled for 5 and Keith Greaves was left 2 not out at the end of the innings as Nomads posted an impressive 216 for 9. This was the highest Nomads score since the 260 for 3 scored against the same opposition in June 2003.

Nick and Martin put on 34 for the first wicket before Forster removed Martin for 10, caught by Moss. Heslington took 3 wickets on the trot. Removing Nick for 15, Adam for 1 and Leighton for a duck. Moss' second catch helped Blackburn remove Luke for 22 to break up the main WT Parker partnership after he had added 47 with Plested. Plested added another 28 with Phillips before he was bowled by Greaves. Edwards picked up the wicket of Nifty. Heslington bowled Trowell to bag his fourth wicket. Moss also got a wicket in his second spell, bowling Phillips in his 8th over, which went for 12 runs thanks to two fours from Danny. WT Parker batted out the allotted 40 overs but were 64 runs short of the Nomads target.
