Pinfield Half Century ensures draw at Sutton on the Hill

Sutton opened steadily against Hoddy and Heslington for 25 off 10 overs, Hoddy only conceding 6 runs off 5 It was only until the 18th over that a wicket fell when Johnston was harshly adjudged lbw facing Hughes. The introduction of Greaves immediately paid dividends when Weir plucked a catch to dismiss the opener Hall, Hughes dismissed Martingdale caught behind and Greaves had Hayes lbw leaving Sutton on 83 for 4. Greaves then dismissed Land the elder caught & bowled with the score 99 for 5 off 26 overs. Motley then entered the fray opening with a four and six and sharing a stand of 44 with the veteran Wenn before the latter holed out to Hughes off Heslington. With the score on 143 off 36 overs Nomads looked to contain Sutton to under 200 but Motley and Duffil helped themselves to 48 off 8 overs with the hosts finishing on 211 off 45 overs. Duffil scored 29 off 21 balls the unfortunate Forster conceding 19 off his last over. Nomads took their catches well with a blinder from Heslington to dismiss the dangerous Motley.

Nomads opened with Gardner and Stanley scoring 40 runs off 10 before the latter was dismissed for 13.G Blackburn scored a quick 4 off 6 balls  before Gardner was caught off a full toss for 33 runs from a total of 56. Pinfield then became the mainstay off the innings scoring 62 containing 12 4's including stands of 23 with Weir, 34 with 'new boy' Collins  and 24 with Forster thus contributing 62 of the 92 runs scored. Heslington finished with a flourish of 13 off 8 balls and the game was saved.
