Recently merged with Stone, Swynnerton Park now have a bigger pool of players to select from and a new name, Stone SP.
They showed their strength in depth as the Nomads were outplayed in all departments. A late fightback from Nomads' experienced bowling pair of Heslington and Forster restricted Swynnerton to 232 for 8 when 260 seemed on the cards. The Nomads batting got off to a promising start but a middle order collapse led to a comprehensive victory for the hosts. Swynnerton winning the match by 84 runs.

Swynnerton batted first and Westwood dismissed a stunned Holdway for 0, lbw in the second over, with the score on just 2. In truth, that was about as good as it got, as Nomad's bowlers toiled on a slow track, after heavy rain prior to Sunday. Westwood removed the other Holdway (25), thanks to a good catch by Forster. Nick George was unlucky not to snare the veteran Derek Price (who played in the infamous first match between the sides in 1991, along with Gardner and Fearon). Fearon put down the chance after losing the ball in the bright sun. Steve George took a sharp slip catch off Collins to remove Stone (28) but that only brought Hawbrooke to the crease. After batting at 11 in his last match, he preceeded to take apart the Nomads attack as Swynnerton pressed home their early advantage. Fearon redeemed himself slightly by running out Price (71) with the help of bowler Greaves.
The introduction of the veterans Heslington and Forster (Over 700 wickets betwen them) for the last 7 overs helped stem the heavy flow of runs. Forster removing Dale and Ecclestone, both neatly stumped by Gardner. Heslington clean bowled the impressive Hawbrook, who had made 75. Swynnerton registering 232 for 8 from their 40 overs.

Gardner and Heslington opened and started well. Gardner looking in good nick straight away. The pair almost got to the 50 opening partnership but Gardner was bowled by Dale. Fearon came in at three and immediately batted comfortably. The change bowlers failed to break through and Fearon saw off Stone, milking three boundaries from an expensive over.
By now the Nomads were scoring at more than five an over and had passed the 100 mark with 9 wickets in hand. Swynnerton brought on the first choice bowlers to make sure that the game didn't run away from them. T Holdway quickly made the break through. Fearon gave himself too much room and was bowled by a quick straight delivery. Brannigan was bowled by Townsend and Heslington fell to Holdway with a ball that kept low, off a good length. Holdway grabbed his third wicket, all bowled, dismissing Nick George for a duck.

Ian Hughes settled the nerves in the Gonads stakes by departing for his fifth duck of the season, caught by Hallbrook, off Townsend. Steve George did likewise off the bowling of Dalton. Westwood was still hanging around but when he went for 11, clean bowled by Dalton the end was in sight. Collins played on to Dale and Dalton clean bowled Greaves to leave the Nomads all out for 148. The last nine wickets had fallen for 41 runs.
