Put in to bowl by the opposition Westwood made an early breakthrough in his 2nd over but the opening pair of Hoddy and Westwood had no more success with the opposing batsmen hitting strongly to push the scoring along. Sam Bryars bowled well to claim 2 wickets and Fearon was unlucky not to claim a wicket with 3 catches being dropped off his bowling albeit he was one of the offenders. Cogzell, in particular, was severely punished with 40 off his 4 overs and Mahmood claimed one victim. The highlights of Nomad's performance were 2 excellent catches in the outfield by Cogzell.
211 off 36 overs was a tall order but the outfield was fast and Nomads were not too despondent.
Terry admitted to playing an awful shot to be dismissed by Cramer and then Gardner and Mahmood struggled to score off a nagging Brake who really did put the brake on things. He is one of those bowlers, of which Trentside seem to have a number, who do not look much from the boundary but cause our batsmen problems His performance of 3 for 13 off his 7 overs went a long way to taking any chance of winning the match away from us. Most of the Nomad batsmen made a start but could not push on to bigger scores. The highlight was Westwood who went in at 11 and scored 35 unbeaten in rapid time ably supported by J Hoddy who did not score but stayed with him.
Against a decent Trentside team who fielded a number of league players, the losing margin was kept to a respectable 44 helped greatly by Westwood's quickfire 35 which helped him win a deserved MVP.
