The cancellation against Woodburners meant that we played Sportsman as a late replacement.
Unusually we had two fixtures this weekend which left us a bit thin and Captain Rolfe had warned the opposition that it would be a weaker team than usual.
Sportsman clearly didn't get the memo as they proceeded to cart our bowlers to all corners of the small ground. They racked up an impressive 182 for 2 at drinks, they eventually finished on 365 for 4.
Qaddous top scord with 148 not out from 101 balls and there were half centuries for Jangra and Ahmed. John Hoddy took two wickets and Aneek and Sam grabbed a wicket each.
The Nomads reply was somewhat more circumspect but we recovered fom 10 for 3 to manage a creditable 156 for 9 in the allotted 40 overs. Jon Loxley top scored with 56 not out befoe retiring injured with the recurrence of an old injury. Dave Rolfe chipped in with 39 not out.
The quality of the opposition was far too good for an understrength Nomads team, making for an uneven contest. However with the season drawing to a close it was better to not waste a dry Sunday.
In another Nomads first, the game was live streamed on Facebook, until the data connection was lost. It is worth checking out (some of) the dismissals on play-cricket.com
