A depleted Nomads X1 were further weaked before play by a finger injury to Ted Edwards which required hospital treatment. This in effect removed our 5th bowler. Four overs into the PS innings Pete willis had to leave the field with torn hamstrings and PS kindly subsistuted 2 of their players to field. The opening parnership of Mattock and Beard put on 76 at 5 an over before Dave Forster took a fine catch by his left boot to dismiss Beard off his own bowling. The combination of Forster and Moss conceded only 35 runs off 10 overs before John Hoddy returned to have Lucas snapped up by Forster at slip. However the next 9 overs conceded 64 runs before the belligerent Mattock retired 100* with the score 160 off 28 overs. Blackburn bowled economically and had Shaw stumped with the score on 170. The Jackson bros then batted out the last ten overs for PS to finish on 226.

Gardner and Stanley opened quietly scoring 16 off 9 before Keith was out lbw for 10. The run rate accelerated quickly in a third wkt stand of 52 off 6 overs before Hussein was questionably given out lbw, of which he had contributed only 5 runs ! Young Moss didn't last long suffering with a painful back and Gardner pushed on with some audacious if risky shots before being caught brilliantly at slip for 78 out of 102. Caygill went for a duck and Forster biffed the ball around for 10 including two 4's. Blackburn and Hoddy held on in a stand of 10 off 6 overs and finally Pickering  perished as Hoddy was finding his batting form. Nomads were outplayed but our fielding was good.
