Nomads 143 for 9 from 40 overs (Gardner
50, Higginson 25 not out, Mottersmead
4-20, Effernan 2-25) Woore 137 all out from 40 overs (Moores 49, Vallius 39, Hoddy 3-33, Higginson 2-19) Some great batting from PG, ably supported by MH and AH with a superb final flourish from PH, backed up by KG brought Nomads to 143 (was this defendable?) Woore going well on 110 for 1 when in blasted PH to bowl both of their two top scorers. JH miscalculated limited bowling resources and had to bring PG on for the 39th. One wicket and two run outs left Woore needing 12 from the last over. Some lusty hitting ensued from JH's last over but a well held catch at very deep long on by KG left them needing too many. The innings closed on 137 and Nomads were home. Experiences against Church Eaton and Norton had served us well in the last few overs and we knew we had got out of jail as Woore had strolled too many ones and twos which should have been twos and threes. Still as they say... Just look in the score book! |
