Nomads 165 for 9  from 40 overs
(Hoddy 28 not out, Grewer 26, Cartwright 21, Robey 3-7).
In yet another last ball finish, the Nomads fell just 4 runs short of Trentside's 169 for 9. A dramatic 9th wicket partnership between Hoddy and Cartwright put on 67 runs to bring the Nomads within sight of an unlikely victory but then Cartwright top edged to fine leg and Nomads last wicket pair failed to get the required ten runs from 9 balls.
Trentside began positively and put on 45 in the first 7 overs and threatened to run riot as they reached 98 for 3 off 21 overs. Greaves dismissal of Jones for 51 was crucial after he came down the track and inside edged it to keeper Hoddy who removed the bails for a swift stumping. How and Liversage tried to accelerate the scoring near the end but controlled bowling from Fearon and Cartwright restricted Trentside to 169 for 9.
In reply Nomads were immediately in trouble as first Heslington, then Gardner and Pinfield went cheaply. Grewer and Hussein steadied the ship briefly but the wickets tumbled again and Nomads looked dead and buried at 93 for 8.
Hoddy and Cartwright then staged their dramatic fightback, which was ultimately in vein as the Nomads lost by 4 runs.
