Umpire/Scorer :
Beaudesert 151 for 5 from 39 overs (Cowley 66, Crouch 32, Cartwright 3-27)
Nomads 132 all out  from 38.4 overs
(Fellows 58, Heslington 35, S. Elson 5-63, Foster 3-36).
After a morning of rain, a last minute pitch inspection found the pitch in playable condition and Nomads arrived for a slightly late start for a match played under dark clouds and in intermittent drizzle. A break of 8 minutes in the 1st innings reduced the match to 39 overs each (no limits on bowlers). On winning the toss Hoddy put the opposition in and tight opening spells by Higginson and Cartwright kept Beaudesert to 33-1 off 14 overs, Cartwright claiming the only wicket in his 5th over. Heslington replaced Higginson and then Neil Hemmings replaced Cartwright at 41-1 off 17 overs. The batsmen, Cowley and Crouch (?) started to take risks and push the score along. With some luck in evading the field and a difficult dropped slip catch by Hoddy , they pushed the score along to 93-1 off 28 overs when Hoddy replaced Heslington. Crouch was bowled by Hemmings for 32 and soon after Hoddy claimed Cowley caught Hemmings for 66. Cartwright came back on with 4 overs to go and claimed 2 more wickets. The final score was 151 - 5.

Higginson 7-2-15-0, Cartwright 11-1-27-3, Heslington 7-1-22-0, Hemmings 8-0-50-1, Hoddy 6-0-29-1. Catches Hemmings, Hoddy, Pinfield

Nomads opened with high hopes and Heslington and Fellows made a slow start although it was always slightly ahead of the opposition’s score. Fellows was pushing the score along when he was given lbw in the 23 over scoring 58 out of a total of 77.

Nomads seemed in a good position to launch an assault but unfortunately both Gardner and Pinfield were caught cheaply just behind square on the leg side and Nomads were rocked back. At 90-3 off 28 overs Nomads dropped behind Beau (93-1) for the first time and after losing Heslington run out by a direct throw that barely grazed the stumps things looked desperate. The new batsmen had to chase the runs from the start and no-one was able to stay in. Nomads were finally all out for 130 off 38.4 overs. Not surprisingly Beau used only 3 bowlers and fielded very well to keep the pressure on.

N. Foster 13.4-0-36-3, S.Elson 19-3-63-5, E.Crouch 7-0-28-1

Heslington 35, Fellows 58, Gardner 1, Pinfield 3, McGuiness 7, Higginson 5, Hemmings 5, Cartwright 1, Hoddy 4, Shohet 2no, Greaves 1
