Beaudesert
v Lichfield Nomads On a fairly cloudy day Beaudesert elected to bat first on a wicket with variable bounce. Cowley started briskly, hitting a couple of boundaries off the first three overs and Beaudesert looked set for a good score. When Heslington got the valuable wicket of Gallier , superbly caught behind by Osborn for 2 and Hoddy bowled the usually reliable Cowley, the advantage swung to the Nomads. France, Elson and Hughes followed and all got into double figures but no further as Hughes and Greaves plundered the middle order. Beaudesert’s total of 118 was below par and a combination of good bowling and fielding had put Nomads in a strong position. Gardner and Hussein could afford to take their time but both batted positively and although Hussein rode his luck early on the Nomads reached the Beaudesert target with overs to spare. They made an unbroken stand of 120.
