Swynnerton Park v Lichfield Nomads Nomads 127 for 9 v Swynnerton 84. Nomads won by 43 runs
Nomads win opening match After a shaky start the Nomads were reduced to 17 for 3, with Gardner, Heslington and Moss all departing cheaply. A stand of 45 between Pinfield and Osborn (25) steadied the ship and Pinfield added another 32 with Hoddy before falling for 32. Hoddy was unbeaten on 19 at the end as Nomads posted a creditable early season 127 for 9. Swynnerton were quickly in trouble as Heslington removed the two openers for ducks. Forster was wicketless for once but Moss picked up two, and there was a wicket for Hoddy. Greaves destroyed the middle order with 3 for 8 and skipper Blackburn got two wickets at the end of the innings. Nomads bowled out Swynnerton for 84 with more than six overs to spare. All in all a good start to 2006.
