Here are the notifications arising from the meeting.
Our Xmas social will be held on the 18th December 2009 commencing in the newly refurbished Duke of York Public House at 7.30pm and will probably follow a familiar Nomads pattern during the course of the evening.
The winter nets will commence on 7th January 2010 at the usual time of 8.00pm with two aisles.
It has been decided that the date of the next meeting will be 14th January 2010 and held at the George and Dragon after the Nets. Copies of the minutes of the last meeting will be available.
An early mention for next seasons LNCC Fantasy cricket league, details will be made available in April. In previous years the organiser has collected what money is offered and distributed the prize money accordingly. Next season will see a change to this practise and all entrance money offered will be paid to the Club Treasurer, who will distribute the prizes.
Finally, all these dates also give us a wonderful opportunity to pay our memberships and 50 club subscriptions, so be prompt with your payments.

Kind Regards
M A Heslington, Club Secretary.

It will be Friday 9th October, in Lichfield meeting at 7 - 7:30 venue TBA (probably Duke of Wellington). Fantasy Cricket Week 19 Update
Lots of movement with three moving down, four staying still and three getting higher, here we go again with this week’s top three scores:
Top score by Mark Heslington’s “April Showers” and the second best total from “Read it and weep” by Paul Fearon looks like keeping the mid table mediocrity match going until the end of the competition .
The third best total by Chris Rowland’s “Nowt for Nowt XV” means that Pete Blackburn’s “Snapper’s Suppas” move down to third, however fourth placed “Beached Whale XV” By Pete Willis is only 453 points behind the top spot, still held by Mal Pinfield’s “Who’s coming second”
With only two weeks left, it’s brewing nicely.
Until next Tuesday at 9.30pm. Click here for the full details.

Fantasy Cricket Week 18 Update
With one up, one down and eight going nowhere here are the top three scorers this as Pete Blackburn’s “Snapper’s Suppas” suffer the indignity tonight of having the circling vultures of 3rd and 4th place catch him.
Fourth place Pete Willis’ “Beached Whale XV” got the second best score and moved within 579 points of top spot. Owt for Chris Rowland's “Nowt for Nowt XV “ with the week’s top score and in turn tied for second place.
But 891 points from Mal Pinfield’s “Who’s coming second “extends the lead at the top.

Nomads lose to big hitting Sutton
A rapid century from Richard Johnson propelled Sutton on the Hill to 210 for 2 off just 31 overs. The home skipper inserted the Nomads before tea and with only one Nomad in the top 10 batting averages in the team it was always going to be an uphill struggle for the Nomads to reach their target. Early wickets meant that the Nomads were soon hanging on for the draw and some tight bowling by Nujrat (6-34) saw the Nomads dismissed for 105. Scorecard and match report

Classy Church ton counts for nought
An impressive 125 from Church Eaton's Smith (D) ultimately counted for nothing as the game was abandoned after just four and a half overs of the Nomads reply. After a late start and the threat of rain to come later, the match was reduced to 35 overs. Church Eaton batted first and posted a massive 244 for 5. The Nomads reply started healthily and reached 29 without loss before the rains came and the match was abandoned as a draw. Read Paul Fearon's Match report.

Fantasy Cricket Week 12 Update
With 3 non movers, 3 going down, 4 moving up and the lead at the top cut almost in half, here we go again with this week’s top three scores. Mark Heslington’s “April Showers” got eighth back after only one week with the third best score. Scoring 772 points and closing the gap at the top to only 417 points, it’s a case of who’s coming first for Mal Pinfield’s “Who’s coming second”. Hughesy’s Hustlers, Ian Hughes’ top scorers this week, have now turned the top 4 into the top 5. But still at number 1 are Pete Blackburn’s “Snapper’s Suppas”. Click here for the full details.

Fantasy Cricket Week 8 Update
Five non movers, three going down and two moving on up here we go again with the top three scorers this week. Mal Pinfield’s “Who’s coming second”, with the weeks third best score, moved down to fourth, but reduced the gap to first by two hundred points. The mighty “Beached whale XV” by Peter Willis has bulldozed a lot more sand out of the way as it moves closer towards the water and the top.
Top scorer this week is Dave Forster’s “Four Star’s” whose fine four figure total reduced the deficit between ninth and eighth, in half. For the fifth week running, Peter Blackburn’s “Snapper’s Suppas” are still at number one, until next Tuesday at 9.30pm. Click here for the full details.

Welcome Win at Wall
The Nomads losing streak ended with a 5 wicket victory away at Wall.
The hosts started cautiously but thanks to a late flurry they reached 145 for 8 off their 40 overs. Despite losing Gardner early on the Nomads were always up with the rate and positive knocks from Weir (35), Brannigan 50 not out and Hussein 26 not out helped the visitors ease to a five wicket victory with more than 4 overs to spare.

There is a well-known saying, “What goes on tour stays on tour.” Not as far as the Nomads are concerned it doesn’t. Anything that you say or do, or don’t say or don’t do, may be broadcast widely and used in evidence at the least convenient time. Click here for Keith's Tour Diary

This was Parker's first game of the season and they were rusty, as the wides tally demonstrated. Batting first, the Nomads posted an impressive 240. Helped by a quick outfield, an undefeated 45 from Keith Stanley who batted right through the 40 overs and all those extras. Gardner 62* and Moss 35 also starred with the bat. Parkers scored 157 in reply giving Nomads victory by 83 runs. Read Dave Forster's Match Report.

Fantasy Cricket Update
Paul Fearon’s “Read 'em and weep” has had the field in tears this week chaps with the highest score and being only one of two climbers.
The other climber being Pete Blackburn’s “Snapper’s Suppers”, who will be out on the lash later due to the fact that they have narrowed the gap at the top to 142 points.
But still at number one, for the third week running, it's Nowt for Nowt XV from Chris Rowland.

Tour Message from the Captain
Guys,
Most of this you'll already know anyway, so apologies for stating the 'bleeding obvious' on some of it...
We'll (the majority of us) be getting the train to London Marylbone from Birmingham Snow Hill @ 08:55 on Friday. This gets us into London for just after 11.
Our connection from St Pancras on the Eurostar is 12:57. This will give us plenty of time to get there as we need to check-in 45 minutes before departure. (minimum 30 minutes)
Our hotel is booked in Brussels for 3 nights. Anyone who wants to have a look can do so:
www.booking.com/hotel/be/nhbrusselscc.html
We are paying 210 Euros per room total, which includes breakfast.
The games are against Royal Brussels on Saturday and 12 Stars on Sunday - both in Brussels area. Both pitches are ARTIFICIAL, so no need for spikes (one less thing to carry). Also to lighten the baggage, I suggest we take the minimum amount of kit between us, so not everyone has to lug around bats & pads - perhaps we should share. (most of us are right handers apart from Gards & K2, I think). Officially, we are allowed 2 'medium' sized suitcases & 1 piece of hand luggage....
As we are travelling fairly early on Friday, there will be no nets this coming Thursday, I'm afraid. Sorry, to those not coming with us. Nets will resume the week after as normal.
I'd also suggest that we make sure our phones are enabled to be used abroad with your operator.
See you all in Birmingham bright & early Friday for breakfast somewhere! Don't forget your passports!
Ian.

17th May 2009
Team for Shugborough
Following our second consecutive victory, the team for Saturday's game at Shugborough is;

I HUGHES
M PINFIELD
M HESLINGTON
P BLACKBURN

D BRANIGAN
L WESTWOOD

We plan to meet at The Wolsey Arms (en route), ST17 0XS, at 1:15pm. The game starts at 2pm. If people want to meet 1st in Lichfield, I suggest liaising with Malc.   Nets on Thurs at Wall if people can attend please.   Obviously we tour Belgium the weekend after - if anyone wants to add themselves to the touring party you will be made welcome. We play Sat & Sun - both games in Brussels.

Physiobench are an on line physiotherapy practice enabling people to self manage their injury with expert physio guidance.

"I feel that Physiobench would fit perfectly with your website. As well as offering personalised rehab programmes we have lots of free advice on site. At the moment articles that would be of interest to your club members include, healing an injury with ice, rotator cuff injury, sprained ankle, and tennis elbow. New articles are added regularly. We have an extensive team of Chartered Physios all of whom are specialists in their fields. One of our team is Scot McAllister physio for Yorkshire CCC. I have already added a link to your site from our cricketing injuries page."

Lichfield Nomads Fantasy Cricket 2009
The Fantasy Cricket Season is with us again and as you are aware Ray has performed the task of administering this competition in the past, very well.
This year the LNCC Fantasy cricket league will be looked after by myself with scores to be counted from games being played from the 6th May 2009.
Rules for this year’s league have altered and I have gone with Peter Willis’ guidance on how the competition will run. Lists of players i.e. batsmen, bowlers, all rounders and wicket keepers can be seen on the telegraph fantasy cricket 2009 website. The entrance fee for the 2009 competition is £5.00 and payable by the end of May 2009.
Entrants are to select 15 players to total no more than 82 points and there will be no changes and no Captains. It is hoped this will take the grief out of keeping track of changes. Here are the selection criteria:
6 Batsmen
2 All Rounders
2 Wicket Keepers
5 Bowlers
The best scoring 5 batsmen, 1 all rounder, 1 wicketkeeper and 4 bowlers will count.
